Well my crimbo wish has come true the Awesome Black Watch are coming home! To say we are delighted and relieved is putting it mildly.
however during their move to Basra the danger of attack from insurgents remains as real as at camp dogwood and we hope to luck that it doesn't happen,the american commander called them Awesome! And said he'd never seen fighters like the Black Watch we could of told him,he had the best guys for the job. grin.
The Black watch are indeed one of the best regiments in the British army and they've done a splendid job. However, let's include in our 'awesome' British troops those from the royal marines, and the SAS to name but two, in fact the whole of the British army, navy and airforce deserves a toast from us all at Christmas for the fine work they do all around the world. We shouldn't forget, as I know the Black watch don't, that the Black Watch are one regiment in an army whose traditions of excellence are alive and kicking.
